Bound by Culture and not by Boundaries

A person does not leave behind his culture when he goes places or settles somewhere in the world. A Punjabi will never forget his Makki ki Roti or Sarson ka Saag, A Tamilian will always search for the Idlis and the Dosas and would always celebrate Pongal and a Keralite will always unite on Onam, Dandiya runs in the blood of a Gujarati and, so on for each and every person belonging to a state and the culture in which he was brought up.

India is land of multiple cultures and one is free to practise and follow it where ever he goes in India and may be whole world. India is called the largest democracy and largest secular country in the world since the people of India with innumerable differences in opinions, religions, states, castes, etc., remain united as a country.

There are many people who are in other states from birth since the ancestors had settled outside their natives for reasons like employment, business etc., but these people not only followed their cultures but also united with the localites and adopted many of the local systems thus integrating themselves with the society.

This is the foundation which has kept India strong and people like Raj Thackeray are trying to root out this core basis on which India stands tall. If one does good deeds he is likely to become popular after say few years but what if someone wants to be instantly on headlines? Raj is just doing that. After breaking away from Shiv Sena his popularity slipped and he had sensed that more nationalistic Shiv Sena was better placed than it, if the Congress+NCP Govt in Maharashtra was to be rooted out in next elections, hence emerging as the most talked about anti social element in the country today. There are reports that NRI’s in US are asking the administration to include MNS in the list of Terror Organisations.

This menace has to be stopped, if such thought spreads in other parts of the country India would be in trouble as each state may start behaving like independent country by itself. The Govt of MH has failed miserably in containing Raj which was evident when he was able to get released second time on bail. Is the state government fearing Marathi voters bash in elections is another thought and if it is then Raj’s plans are on track as he has poisoned the minds of local people.

The Central UPA led Govt is facing pressure from its allies as each one of them wants to prove themselves to the local region as the elections are approaching fast. There were advisories sent to Orrisa by UPA on account of attacks on Christians, there’s nothing this sort happening to Maharashtra Govt.

RJD has found a hero in itself out of the situation. Laloo Prasad Yadav is batting in Bihar and also keeping in the chair of Rail Ministry looting the passengers silently like a slow poison and yeah also taking away the credit of bringing railways into profit, at who’s cost? Definitely ours! Sitting on the Rail Ministers chair he has no moral ground to seek resignation from other ministers.

  1. For gaining votes, politicians go to any extent. No doubt Raj is playing a great ball game among Marathi voters, Lalu Prasad is winning the hearts of the Biharis and down south, TN CM Karunanidhi is busy collecting donations for the SRI LANKAN TAMILS!!! What a joke!!! People in India have no food and shelter, but just to please the tamilian community, the so called relief fund has been raised by the CM!
